Hi subscribers,
It’s Emily (Em) here — your author and guide at Doula Thinking. I wanted to share a quick announcement.
After a few months of technical difficulties stemming from having two Substack newsletters under one bank account, I’ve finally worked it out with the platform being able to receive paid subscriptions. Whoo! This means MORE content is coming very soon.
What that means for you:
Your free subscription remains, which means that you will continue to get newsletter updates delivered right to your inbox when there isn’t a paywall on that particular article. The bulk of the unpaid posts will be around birth and pregnancy in pop culture. That means the movie reviews, cultural commentary, celebrity pregnancy stuff, etc., will remain free. I will also occasionally share some reposts about reproductive tech and doula work from past work I’ve done.
To continue diving deeper into all things baby and femtech with me here, you’ll have to subscribe. It’s $5 a month, which spread over a year will net you dozens of well researched and in-depth articles on emerging technologies, conversations on clinical guideline updates, thoughts on parenting tech and privacy, advanced doula guides on how to address critical topics with your clients, information on doula legislation, etc., for just $60. Each article I write averages about 10-15 hours of work in the research, writing, editing, posting, and promoting and you’ll get to soak up all that goodness for what averages about 1-2 hours of paid postpartum work. Not a bad deal, eh?
I’ll also be putting up shop discounts on the paid subscription feeds that can be applied by you and your clients on the materials up in my shop.
I’m grateful for the support I’ve received over my 6 years of writing and teaching in the doula community and look forward to sharing more of this content with you. Please know that every subscription helps me stay afloat, helps me dedicate more time to researching and sharing, and keeps me editorially independent.
Thank you!
Emily
